Alpha Geoscience, a geological consulting firm in upstate New York, is seeking a geologist with 2-5 years of experience, with a Bachelor of Science Degree, or higher, in Geology.   

Experience or educational background in stratigraphy, structural geology, hydrogeology, petrology, and geological field methods is required. A detail-oriented individual with interest or experience in rock core logging and familiarity with drilling oversight is preferred.   

Candidate is expected to conduct field and office work related to mining, water supply, and environmental projects.  Travel is required, as needed, to support project assignments.

Project Manager/Geologist

HRP Associates, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager- Geologist with 10+ years’ experience to join our team.  This candidate will primarily be responsible for day-to-day management of a portfolio of projects under the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s (NYSDEC’s) Standby Engineering Contract.  In addition, the Project Manager will help manage and grow the existing clients and prospective clients within New York, including but not limited to State brownfields, Office of General Services (OGS) remediation and tank design projects, as well as private and municipal clients.  A variety of challenging assignments will be offered to successful candidates, including environmental assessments, the design and execution of hydrogeological investigations, and remedial actions.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Project management of a broad technical range of projects valued up to $5M
  • Staff leadership, mentoring and supervision
  • Client communication and management
  • Budget development and proposals
  • Development of Conceptual Site Models
  • Site investigation under a broad array of hydrogeological conditions
  • Remediation design and implementation
  • Data analysis and interpretation
  • Report preparation

Work experience and knowledge to include (depending on experience level & position):

  • Multi-media field sampling and logging techniques
  • Oversight and management of subcontractors
  • Monitoring well design and installation
  • Geospatial data collection and analysis
  • Knowledge of regulatory framework in the Northeast, particularly within the State of New York
  • Environmental site assessments (Phase I/II/III)
  • Report preparation and an aptitude for technical writing

Senior Geologist

HRP Associates, Inc. is seeking a Senior Geologist/Environmental Scientist with 4 to 7 years’ experience to support our team in Clifton Park, NY.  This candidate will primarily be responsible for supporting initiatives related to a portfolio of projects under the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s (NYSDEC’s) Standby Engineering Contract.  This could include performing file reviews, site assessments, soil and groundwater delineation, and site remediation across widely varied conditions, and within a broad geographical area.  In addition, the successful candidate will support office growth with respect to existing and prospective clients within New York, including but not limited to State Brownfields, Office of General Services (OGS) remediation and tank design projects, as well as private and municipal clients. The objective is to be part of a growing team, strengthening and expanding HRP’s expertise and influence within New York State.
